Prior to joining Greens, Gillian spent almost fourteen years as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Health and Safety. During this time she carried out workplace inspections and audits and investigated accidents in a wide range of industries, including agriculture, woodworking, manufacturing and the health sector.
She spent the last three years of her time with HSE in the Asbestos Licensing Unit where, among, other duties, she was responsible for training HSE’s Construction Inspectors.
In 2012, she was granted a travelling fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust and spent six weeks in Australia and New Zealand studying safety cultures in agriculture.
In any spare time that she has, Gillian enjoys running, reading, cooking and going to the cinema.
